UTP’s Foundation Studies Programme (FSP) is an academic programme designed for local and international students who want to study an undergraduate degree at UTP. FSP provides the frame and basis for UTP’s engineering, technology and science undergraduate courses. Students who have completed SPM or its equivalent are eligible to apply. Postgraduate Programme Overview
Programme Overview
The University provides excellent research facilities and services for postgraduate students. This includes an experienced pool of academic not only from UTP, but also visiting lecturers from UTP partners and industry experts. In addition, students have access to industry data and practices for project work; they are also able to utilise latest sofware tools and simulation packages currently used by industry.
Students will also benefit from studying in a dynamic research environment where the university’s Mission Oriented Research (MORs) in nine thematic areas encourages interdisciplinary and translationary research work to flourish within the campus. These nine thematic areas are Enhanced Oil Recovery, CO2 Management, Deepwater Technology, Nanotechnology, Green Technology, Biomedical Technology, Hybrid Energy Systems, Intelligent City and Sustainable Resources.
Joint postgraduate programmes are offered, providing opportunities for research to be conducted at different universities and industry locations worldwide. UTP has partnerships with internationally renowned universities such as the University of Manchester and Herriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom, Lehigh University, U.S.A. as well as the institut Francais du Petrole (IFP) and Univesity of Burgundy, France. The University also has collaborations with many global industry giants including Shell, Schlumberger, Mitsubishi, Technip, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Hitachi as well as Intel and locally with organisations such as MIMOS Berhad, Muhibbah Engineering and PETRONAS subsidiaries.
Our Postgraduate programmes have been acknowledged internationally and the university has admitted postgraduate students from various parts of the world, who are sponsored by governments, organisations and industries.
